I have really enjoyed reading My Freshman Year so far. I am in an anthropology course right now and we are learning about different cultures (which is to be expected) but what I love about this book is that it brings to your attention that you don't have to travel to experience cultures, there are many different cultures surrounding us in everyday life situations. I really admire this professor for not only realizing this, but investing in it. I have had some professors who act as if their class is the only class and that college is very easy so there is no need to struggle, but as this book points out, there is a lot a student has to take in. Even if it is as simple as learning the language of how to directionally get around on campus.
